Marko Kantola has been one of the leading house hold names of Subtraxx for quite some time – now it’s his time to bloom and get the recognition in the eyes of trance world.

Empty Heart is a trademark Marko Kantola track with chunky housey beats, big bassline and infectious vocal chop samples make one hell of a club track.

Turn A Round gives a twist to what you’d expect from Marko. Lurking around pop, house and trance genres, these long vocals, beautiful strings and throbbing baseline are driving forward like a brand new Hummer.

Both of these tracks have been tested on a dance floor and guaranteed to work around the globe.

Airwave - Cathedrals Of Hope (L*C*D Recordings)

God, this is one hell of a cracker!

Cathedrals Of Hope is an outstanding piece of music. Credible, Strong, with an Attitude.

Reset marks Airwave’s return to heavier sounds for a trancer that’s larger than life.

And Last But Not Least: a Brand New Version of his last Smasher Atlas Winds, this time featuring great vocals by Francesca Genco. Should justify its presence into every actual dj’s recordbox for the next months to come.

Essential Release.

Follow You is one of the finest pieces from Dirkie and Neo’s well working collaboration.

This time the vocals come from UK based songstress Ekatherina April, who’s voice fit’s perfectly to boys modern production.

The remixes are coming from Zage and Subtraxx’s work horse Marko Kantola with two different mixes.

While original mix is modern vocal trance track at it’s finest, Zage’s remix adds a techy, nu-trancey vibe to the track. The way the groove and kick-bass combo works left us amaze how this guy has been able to keep the downtime from producing. Here’s a name to follow in the future!

Marko Kantola adds the trademark prog trance vibe with chunky house beats on top. Big trance chords fill the crossover feel.

For those uncomfortable with vocal tracks, we give you a dub version of original version and darker dub interpretation from Marko Kantola.

Zodiacal Light - Fire in the Sky (Green Martian)

Zodiacal Light is a producer from the Houston, Texas, area. He has been producing Trance, Progressive Trance, and Progressive House for over 6 years now. Zodiacal Light discovered electronic music in the early 80s via the Kraftwerk album “Computer World.” Being primarily a guitarist, he concentrated on rock and metal and even formed several bands. Upon discovering computers in the late 90s, Zodiacal Light set music aside for a while. An interest in electronic music was rekindled after hearing live dance club DJ sets on FM radio in the early 2000s. Soon after that, he discovered Trance though live DJ sets on the internet. Computers and music merged.

Zodiacal Light had already been tinkering around with music production software. He became serious about electronic dance music production and learned all about it through web pages, web forums, and producer friends acquired along the way. Zodiacal Light’s music can be described as progressive, melodic, and mood setting.

To date, Zodiacal Light has had 3 EPs released through Bonzai Progressive labels Green Martian and Android Records. Several remixes have been released through Bonzai as well. His remix of Lost Edit’s MK Ultra was included on the “Best of Bonzai Progressive 2007-2008” compilation. Several other Bonzai compilations include his tracks.

The releases keep coming, so stay tuned.

Glideslope - Sunstone (Subtraxx Recordings)

Sunstone is Glideslope’s second release on Subtraxx. He’s first track Fable was released in summer 2011, and later on refurbished by our own Theta Rhythm.

Sunstone is an energetic trancey track, with amazing groove which won us over from the first listen. The breakdown of the track is super positive yet wistful melodic, from where it is coming back to full groove effortlessly.

Italian George Le Rouge cranks up the compressors and introduces some hard synth work for the friends of more aggressive tracks.

Night Shift Master - Love Like Sunlight Hill (Nemesis)

Love Like Sunlight Hill is yet another perfect hit for Nemesis. Beautiful progressive track with amazing melody. There’s a simple yet effective vocal hook and hooky piano chord riff.

Sourcee gives the track more prog trancey feeling with saw based chord hits. Signature Sourcee sound that you will definitely hear more this spring.

Dima Ashaev is the other half of Russian production duo Rotation. His remix is the hardest, the most aggressive of this trio, yet still fitting Nemesis’ previous releases. The approach is modern, with a twist in the breakdown.

Lope & Kantola - Lonely Ranger (Subtraxx)

2012 brings collaboration between Subtraxx label manager Ville Lope and Marko Kantola, making a huge comeback. Marko and his earlier project White Stars’ releases were frequently spotted in the playlists and compilations of big names like Armin Van Buuren and Markus Schulz.

Lope & Kantola brings the dancefloor just what you can expect from these two talented Finns. Big basslines, solid grooves and huge melodies. Lonely Ranger is only the first chapter in new success story. The original track introduces a catchy percussive loop, big gritty baseline and great groovy drums.

Jason Seizures can still be thought as a newcomer in the record industry, but with big remix of Alex Kunnari feat. Ben Andreas – Taste The Sun on Magik Muzik can’t be said to be unheard. Jason’s remix Electro House Remix can be dubbed as Complextro – He takes the already big and gritty baseline and makes it completely his own. This track is totally a party track ensured to make the crowds bounce like madmen. Yes, there’s dustup breakdown in this one.

Airwave’s insight to Lonely Ranger strips down the track – his true trance approach is almost minimalistic compared to the complexity and melodies of the original. If you are into laid back progressive grooves and trance of the nineties, this is a safe bet. Airwave is again on fire.

JDC - Más Cerca (Camouflage)

Más Cerca is one of those releases leading the direction towards “real trance” that has been bubbling underground for white a while now.

This track gets the inspiration and idea from the trance releases around late 90’ies and early 2000’ies, but the production, beats and drive is up to date.

Más Cerca is one of those tracks that leaves the audience shouting for more. Driving, dark and techy beat in minor scale switches effortlessly to major scale introducing a spot on beautiful piano theme. The lift off reminds us of the times when the dutchmen took over the trance scene.

The remix comes from our exotic producer Arrakeen, hailing from Singapore. His remix is balancing between ripping dutch leads and light trance arps.

This release is for the DJ’s who want the trance to stay true to it’s origin.

Arran Lee feat. Michelle Richer - Find Me (Subtraxx Recordings)

Arran Lee gained the attention of trance world with his previous Subtraxx release Saw You Coming. The raving reviews paved the path to his first vocal track, presenting the marvelous voice of Michelle Richer.

Find Me takes the aggressiveness down a bit from Saw You Coming, but the almost techy groove is still there. The breakdown introduces Michelle’s voice and a main room chord stab melody. There’s a lift off that is made to make the dancefloor move.

The remix comes from new rising finnish trance producer Glideslope. His interpretation leaves the vocal in the background, focusing on the beautiful melodies Arran provided. Glideslope’s sound described in a word is mature, trance for the new generation, bowing to the heroes of the past.

Airwave - Atlas Winds (L*C*D Recordings)

A true activist in Electronic music of all kinds for well over 15 years, Belgian Airwave’s discography counts more than 250 records and dozens of remixes, many of them being supported by the biggest names of the industry. Genius Composer and Performer, the man’s imprint on the scene is remarkable.

Hit by surprise by a virus called Electronic Dance music, Laurent developed his knowledge of music and technology in Parallel until his first demos saw the light of day in may of 1995. 1996 saw him release his first tracks on the infamous Bonzai imprint, but that is 1998 that saw him grow up and become the progressive trance artist we know today, with the release of his first Airwave record, I want to Believe, immediately picked up by UK’s own Sasha and Oakenfold, and later on by up and coming youngster Tiesto, gaining popularity as much as he was playing Laurent’s records. The same can be said about the whole dutch trance scene, in which Laurent’s records were and still are omnipresent.

That is how Laurent developed his DJ and performing career from back then, having several gigs worldwide, from Tokyo to San Francisco, from Auckland, NZ to Toronto, and from Manchester to Athens. Hundreds of gigs saw him perform at the world’s biggest clubs of those times, Slinky, Gatecrasher, Godskitchen, The Gallery, 1015, Dopler in Bratislava, and many others, all of them had the chance to welcome Laurent Airwave one day, if not several times, which proves that you do not need to over-commercialize your music to get rewarded all around the world.

«Everyday is full of new challenges, and limits only exist into the human brain» are Airwave’s words of wisdom for every single day. Do not limit the man to a single genre, as his 15 years in the business gave him the ability to execute any style of music with a true sense of perfection and achievements.

Dirkie Coetzee, Neo Kekkonen and Marcia Juell - Live Again (Subtraxx)

The flowing collaboration between Neo Kekkonen and Dirkie Coetzee isn’t restricted to big remixes, the original work is most likely even bigger.

Live Again presents the vocal talent is US based songstress Marcia Juell, who has had success on international labels such as Black Hole.

Live Again is a showcase how all these three talents think alike of dance music of the new year. This is track is aimed for the floor, but the beauty of the melody makes sure the track fits excellently to radio use also.

The remixes come from Israeli future super-duo R&R. Their previous release “Stranger”, released on our Nemesis sub label, was supported by Markus Schulz and was licensed to his monthly Top 15 late last year. R&R adds a tech progressive touch to the track.

Subtraxx cornerstone Ayleon adds their magical trance touch to the track. Their 10 minute trance interpretion is something that you really need to listen. This is something for the uplifted minds.

Various Artists - Subtraxx Remixed Part 3 (Subtraxx)

We have much respect to our past, the great artists and awesome releases during the past years.

Year 2012 will concentrate on the in-house artists and yet more Subtraxx trademark Finnish sound. On Subtraxx Remixed the remix treatment was given to tracks that we’re originally released without a remix on our labels during 2011.

Russian electroinflueced DJ Salamandra’s Physical got a tranced by South African Dirkie Coetzee and his Finnish production soulmate Neo Kekkonen, the end result is a vocal gem with big room trance chords.

Our US based secret weapon Theta Rhythm took a approach on Finnish Glideslope’s first release Fable. The outcome is a bass heavy progtrancer with almost fragile piano themes.

Neo’s solo production selection was targeted to Wind Walking by Helion Tide. The remix is a driving trancer with modern twist, bit darker than the uplifting original.

Originally released on Camouflage, Lisko’s Silver Sky caught the attention of fresh production duo Sagen & Jonas who decided to make a remix of the track just for fun. After hearing the track we decided this remix will have to made heard by larger audience. Proper uplifting trance.
