Piston Recordings has come a long way and gained the support of top jocks all over the world since its creation in 2007. Now in its fifth year, and with an ever increasing artist roster, the quality continues to flow in style. Coming soon we have a compilation, “Best Of Piston Recordings 2012” to celebrate a successful year for the Portuguese outfit. The compilation consists of superb deep house and techno cuts from an impressive line-up including, Piek, Brett Lawrence, Accatone, Baltj More, Daniel Karma, Garcy Noise, Oraa, Valeria Croft, Vasco, Lights Electronica, newly signed Dimitry Liss and label founder Rogerio Martins. Piston prides itself on being not just about music but also about building a family of artists creating special bonds that will stand the test of time. 
Many of the tracks have featured in playlists from Richie Hawtin, Nick Harris and Michel De Hey to name a few, with Richie Hawtin hammering Piek - Susurros multiple times in one weekend. Tracks have also been featured heavily on download portals and are included in a lot of DJ charts as well. Rogerio has also been busy on the club circuit with a host of label nights gaining popularity across Portugal. 
You can expect the very best on this compilation from the deep tech fuelled grooves of Valeria Croft’s “Hippy”, sublime blissed out beats from Vasco with “It’s never Too Late” and the solid deep house rhythm on Accatone’s “Future Us”. Rogerio Martins “I’ll Bring You Home”, Brett Lawrence’s “Remember That Jack” and GarcyNoise feat. Bizzarre DJ’s “Pussycats Howl” adds deep funk while a mixture of deep house and tech rounds up a brilliant year for Piston. 
Piston’s artists enjoy much success on the DJ circuit and are also in demand for remixes on various labels and guest mixes on radio stations all over Europe. 
The future for Piston is bright with many more projects in the works and with previous releases on vinyl being well received this can only mean more to come.

Based in the UAE, Russian born artist Dimitry Liss graces the shores of Piston Recordings with his new cut “Downside Swindle EP” which is backed up with super remixes. Having signed a new exclusive deal with Bonzai, it’s clear that this guy has a lot offer and this EP is testament to that.

Kicking off with the original mix of “Into The Night”, a deep funky slice of pure house, excellent bassline with a very laidback groove and a very effective continuous organ synth hypnotises the mind, add into this a really cool vocal and you’ve got a track that will hold up in any club.

First up on remix duty is Portuguese deep house star Accatone aka Jose Reis with his remix of “Into The Night”. Jose is heavily involved with Piston along with the founder and close friend Rogerio Martins. The remix kicks off quite minimal but soon builds to an awesome house vibe with the great vocal from the original taking centre stage, deep basses and crisp sharp hats create a sweet groove which will make sure this has a lot of plays.

Pistons head honcho Rogerio Martins returns to the mixing desk after a brief hiatus to deliver the same quality production that keep his label at the forefront of the house scene. His remix of “Into The Night” really is an amazing insight into the deeper side of house. Soulful vibes kick off this remix and the vocal sweeps in and out with some very nifty FX work. Cool organ sound fills the arrangement with a grungy type bass coming in midway, really well crafted remix of the highest standard and sure to hitting the floors big time.

“Killa Dime” Cold Cut Mix is a sublime piece of deep house that really gets the toes tapping, surreal synths dominate with a very cool vocal over a laidback groove. Very impressive production from Dimitry and definitely taking deep house in a different direction.

Finally we have the delectable and funky “Midnight On Wax”, deep funky vibes take control, this tune builds up to a frenzy of awesome house organs and stabs, different vocal one shots from both male and female add a cool texture, late night parties will be queuing this up for a while.
