Eco Do Ego - Aquijazz (AU Records)

AU Records is proud to present Jazz painted in Orange! This release has been inspired by an Eco do Ego’s original track called “Aquijazz”, and features remixes from Inês Duarte, Diego Alvez and Fragoso.

The original track gives the listener a very pleasant experience using a great variety of Jazzy sounds arranged in a spontaneous way, having the healthy characteristic of being a mystery from the beginning, revealing itself slowly during its playback. Eco do Ego mixed very raw percussion with a simple, yet solid, bassline and series of rhodes and vocal sounds in a brilliant way, sharing with the world his own vision of Jazz music and how it can be played from Chill-Out lounges to Clubs.

Inês Duarte’s version is so dancefloor friendly that you won’t want to miss the opportunity to have it. The strong percussion and bassline prints a huge power to the track, while the perfect, short yet effective, selection of samples from the original samplepack, mixed with a brilliant gated/arpeggiated synth, adds to the track an inexplainable metaphysical feeling.

Diego Alvez, very inspired by the original version, made it shuffle as well! Totally unpredictable from the begining to the end, it mixes all kind of instruments in a very curious way, breaking some rules here and there during the music, just like Jazz artists do. Keeping the warm Chill-Out feeling of Eco do Ego’s version this turns to be perfect to relaxant ambients.

Fernando Fragoso’s efforts to make his piece of art unique turned it into, not only a remix, but a track filled with a new set of recordings such as his own played contrabass and loops of his voice, so he kept some vital percussion elements from the original version and rebuilt the concept according to Fragoso’s well refined taste.
